@Alexander87oclock How can you have knowledge of music without a bit of talent? For every person that has musical talent/knowledge in this world, there are just as many (if not more) that do not. Therefore, if you do not have knowledge of music, you do not have talent, either. If you were to put a person with no musical KNOWLEDGE (and therefore no musical talent) in front of a computer, I doubt they would be able to produce anything in a realm comparable to Kanye’s work.

Your “doubt” that Kanye knows what keys his songs are in does not prove your point, as you clearly have no clue whether or not Kanye has musical talent. You can tell yourself that the advancement of musical technology does not require talent, but many would surely disagree.

Furthermore as his producing concerned, look at all the help he gets!! look at My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy- and see all of the producers and engineers on that record. Last note on theory, I seriously doubt he knows what half of the key’s his “songs” are in as well as him having too many of his songs outside standard 4/4 time.

First, there is no proof of Kanye West being a “piano player.” Second, I never threw out the notions that In order to consider yourself a “musician” you had to be proficient at your instrument to the point of playing concertos. Second, what credentials have you obtained noting that Kanye West is in fact a piano player, and knows a slice of music theory?
@Alexander87oclock Where did you get the idea that he plays no musical instruments from? He plays the piano, believe it or not. Just because he isn’t in videos playing piano concertos doesn’t mean he doesn’t play any instruments. Also, as a producer, he has produced some amazing instrumentals, and that also requires musical talent, including knowledge of music theory (key signatures, time signatures, etc.). So please, just because you don’t like him, don’t insult his musical ability.
