Takes me back to when I was seventeen and got my first REAL kiss….FROM ANOTHER BOY!
Just finished watching WEEKEND.
Beautiful, moving and unexpected treasure. This was the closing song. tears in my eyes. What a wonderful discovery. Thank you God. And you too Mr. Grant
<3 weekend
What is John Grant on?? Manned space-flight to Mars, or ‘Marz’ as this guy has embarrassingly misspelt it, is still decades away. And even if it existed now I doubt a forty-something singer songwriter would have the remotest chance of being accepted onto any planned Mars mission by NASA or the Russian Space agency. Dream on, dude.
thumbs up if Weekend brought you here! Beautiful song. Melody is a bit like Giorgio Moroder’s “Tears”
It’s a wonderful dreamsong
WEEKEND!
After a drunken house party with his straight mates, Russell heads out to a gay club. Just before closing time he picks up Glen but what’s expected to be just a one-night stand becomes something else, something special. The acting is just great and I love both “Tom Cullen & Chris New”
Well I have to say this is now one of my favorites movies.I now have the DVD of the movie as well as the album from JOHN GRANT.I have seen this movie about 5 times so far…WEEKEND is so well made and a moving story of two men that fall in love over the Weekend.
@jonnyvibgyor Thank for the info on FOSSIL COLLECTIVE
Never have I wanted to love to listen, only to find myself completely stupid in understanding anything lyrical in his work.
heard this song from a movie i just watched “weekend” awesome song! and movie!
@killobite Yes
Am I the only one who doesn´t understand the lyrics?
6 diabetics had watched this video
Waited through the credits in Weekend to find out who this was. So glad I did. It’s a beautiful and atmospheric song.
Thank God for Weekend
This man in the crown….is this John Grant? He looks like the man in Weekend who was standing in the foreground of one of the trolley cars and then at the bar with Glen and his friends…..
I too was blown away by Weekend. It was also my introduction to John Grant – serious double whammy there! And it came to me a few days after seeing Weekend that it’s like a Smith’s song in movie form. Does anyone else feel that way?
I agree about Weekend. I saw it 5 times! Part of the reason however was that I found the dialogue hard to understand and since there was not a wasted line I wanted to make sure I caught everything. This film really needs subtitles in English for people to understand everything especially people who are not as familiar with the English accent. After 5 times I still did not catch everything and am waiting for the DVD to play it back. I too was blown away.
@drasticmeasure2000 I was just about to mention that! I thought the song fit perfectly. So beautiful, and what a touching film.
barclay james harvest is back
Kills me…
Anyone see this in Weekend? Blown away
